Intereresting. Last time Radio 1 moved it (from Egton to Yalding) it was done in one go in the middle of the day

Just a note to say Radio 1 begins the move tomorrow. Dev will be the first show from NBH at 4am. Not sure if any other programmes are moving yet, the Breakfast show is staying put for now, so it's going to be a gradual thing.

I expect if a certain person was still on the breakfast show, we'd hear much more about the move than we would now.

Wouldn't have thought there would've been any point opening Salford TV studio on Xmas Day, as the only people that will be in surely would be the Radio people?

Well, apart from the people making three hours of live television. On the weekends they only do two five minute regional news bulletins on TV, so what's the difference?

I believe the plan was for the Breakfast Show to be one of the last things to move, to make sure the technology was all ok, given how technical the Moyles show was.

Not necessarily, I would have thought they'd have done some programmes from Yalding before moving completely, those documents are just for the final one. Of course those could just be faded up on the desk at the old studio instead of having to go through a handover as detailed in those sheets

The middle of the day is the best time to do it rather than late at night or early in the morning as the engineering cover is better. When BBC London moved to BH it was at lunchtime

It's in fact tomorrow according to the Radio 1 Facebook page. Grimmy did say last Friday Dev would be broadcasting from the new studios on Monday, so looks as if it's been delayed a couple of days.

@BBCR1: Here's @dev_101's producer, Cara with her 'Britney' headset. This is how she takes your calls for the show http://t.co/nfQNzj1E
