I would have World News Today coming from Studio E as well, and Duh Nyooz Chanul (which should definitely take second fiddle to an International news channel viewed by hundreds of millions of people) should be kicked out of Studio E from 5-10:30pm.

What utter utter cr*p.

The BBC is British for Britain, paid for by Britain. Commercial activities are a stain on the editorial independence of the News division that has made it the best, most trusted news broadcaster on the planet.

If Johnny Foreigner wants to look over our shoulder and read the newspaper that we paid for, then let it, but they should never, ever, let non-licence fee payers get the upper hand.

I'm afraid you are not paying for a lot of what you are watching. Because we elected a government who has frozen the Licence fee, an effective 20% cut, BBC News can no longer afford to do a lot of what it used to do.

The money it now gets from it's commercial activities is now paying for a large amount of the output you see.

Looking at the photo I would love to see the 'risk slips and trips' risk assessment in the studio. Looking at that camera track, someone will have made a fortune compiling it. Very Happy

That studio is really nice. Great to see they went with the London Skyline for the main backdrop.

Agreed. I think it's lovely because it brings out the studio a bit more if you know what I mean and my guesses are that the London Skyline backdrop will turn dark at night time maybe.

I guess the BBC News at Five will also come from here - if World are in the basement and the Six are preparing in the news channel studio. And, the 9.30pm half hour as well. (If the same arrangement is kept)

I sure hope that's what happens. Give a bit of variety.

The studio will be empty by 4.30 anyway (with HARDtalk starting), and the Hub will come from Studio B until 6.30.

HARDtalk is also on in the 9.30 slot on World News.

On separate note, here's hoping that both Studios C and E are used to the max. It would be nice if there were specialist programmes presented only from the 3 TV screens, or maybe sit at different angles around the desk, if that were possible.

With the camera set up, there doesn't appear to be the tricky business of moving around cameras and their operators (like in N8 at the moment).

Radio 1 must be close to moving into BH soon? A lot of the presenters seem to be mentioning it. Are they leaving Yalding House completely, or will 1Xtra still be there?

I bet the news channel use a fake newsroom backdrop instead. Wink

No, there's little point in just moving one station and they have a lot of combined resources

As I understand it the aim is to just have Broadcasting House and Western House, although I don't know whether they'll need to keep some others like Brock House and Henry Wood House in the short term now that White City is going
