Interesting that they seem to be using green screen for Hardtalk. I presume all the smaller shows (and likely Newswatch) will go to green screen to save having to dress the sets given that they no longer have a wall of barco screens.

I for one shall miss the gaps.

Also the chap on the left driving the newsroom camera looks far too pleased with himself Wink

That video is an excellent find. Thanks for that. It seems then that the BBC aren't keen to keep any secrets away from us regarding the look of the new studios!

I just love the tractor cam. Just the size of the newsroom is incredible on that shot. The height of the building as well is really accentuated. Interesting to use it on BBC World News when they're in the basement, amongst other places. A taster of what they're missing out on on the newsroom floor!

HardTalk's green screen looks a bit ropey at the moment - very obvious for a viewer that it's green screen. Perhaps the lighting isn't perfect on it yet.

I hope they'll use the spiral staircase for trailers for the bulletins. That would be very modern indeed.

A really enjoyable watch. And so soon until Andrew Marr!

The first World programs have already been made, not sure which other online news services use this studio but the Russian site does:

I understand that in addition to the main studios and main galleries, there are also smaller areas in the building with mini-galleries that can be used for shorter bulletins (like 60 Seconds), or pre-recorded link shows.

While this thread is becoming more popular, just worth showing a quick cap from earlier today, when the News Channel went live to BBC World Service's Africa Editor in their newsroom in NBH.

A man in the video mentioned having to 'light it' in reference to a shot of someone standing on the staircase, so I'd assume it will be used in some way.

Hmmm. Presenting off a balcony/staircase is a bit 5 News circa-2001.

Not when you've got a very large newsroom which can be shown off!

I can imagine it working quite well on 60 seconds.

I was deliberately differentiating as Arabic and Persian have been broadcasting for some time at NBH, albeit in the Peel (Egton) wing. The Russian programme comes from the 5th floor MPA of the new part and comes under BBC Global, not BBC World which is a different animal.
BBC World should start from NBH in October in both Studio C and Studio B.
There is a clip studio (F) for 60 seconds and another MPA on the 2nd floor near to the business unit.
