Broadcasting House, Salford Quays & TVC

One of the reasons given for no big pre-Olympics moves to NBH was that they needed circuits to connect Stratford to TVC. Now the Olympics are over, can they now start moving in anger, or do they still need stuff for the Paralympics?

well it appears BBC TV aren't covering the Paralympics at all, Channel 4 has that job. Radio 5 Live and R5LSX will however be the BBCs only dedicated coverage. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/disability-sport/19118962

So perhaps World can start moving, but, they might wait until the Paralympics are finished as the eyes of the world will be on them and they will want to appear as a competent and smooth broadcaster.

When does BBC NEWS move to Broadcasting House ?

Think the schedule is Newsnight & World News in September, 1/6/10 & News Channel in February 2013. I was just wondering how soon in September Newsnight & World are likely to move in.

Well Andrew Neil mentioned the fact when The Sunday Politics returns, it will be from their new Studio which is in NBH.

I am assuming it is September 9th as on their facebook page they say shows return on Monday 3rd.

On the last programme of the series, Andrew Neil said Sunday 23rd September. Similarly, Andrew Marr said that he'd have a new studio. Again, that will be in September. Before then, you'll see Newswatch at NBH with Samira Ahmed. Not sure about when Newsnight moves - I guess it is next month some time.

Is it just the Sunday Politics that is moving? I take it the Daily Politics will be staying at Millbank with all its associated PAL artefacts

Yes for Sunday Politics! I'm sure the picture quality at Millbank will look just wonderful when BBC Two HD comes around...

Also first Newswatch will be September 28.

They seem happy enough to let that studio go on air on BBC1 HD for This Week.

First UK tv programme from NBH will be Marr on Sunday the 2nd September from Studio B. Sunday Politics will start 2 weeks later. Newsnight will be October.

An excellent video - the newsroom camera pan looks really excellent. Hope they're going to improve that green screen studio but other than that it all looks great so far.
