Even I have to say, the Manchester New Broadcasting House is quite ugly and should probably be demolished, it is nowhere near as iconic as Granada Studios - and Granada looks better, even if it is still a tower block.

So there is no reason to think that TV will not continue to be made there. So far, this is broadly positive no?

I guess I was secretly hoping that the BBC would not find a buyer and would therefore change it's mind about it's sale and move everyone back, but I know that was never realistically going to happen.

I had the next highest bid at £15.20, but my plans to turn it into a derelict building weren't approved in time.

Interesting that the sale price of the whole of TVC was less than what BBC Worldwide earned for the corporation in just one year.

More details to be revealed when the deal is finalised. Maybe they'll keep a small studio presence but I can assure they didn't pay 200m to keep it all as a studio block.

er this year 'pre tax' profits were just over 100m.
They had over 200m the year before but that was due to the sale of their rights in Animal Planet.

My thinking is one studio will be kept fully functioning for shows like Strictly and also to whichever commercial broadcaster wants a studio( Paul O Grady was made at TVC for a while), but the rest of the building will be turned over to other uses.

I'd have thought it would be more than one studio, TC3, 4, 6 and 8 are regularly booked, TC1 less so. I'd have thought that maybe they could dispense with 2, 5 and 7 plus all of the old news studios and the long mothballed TC9. Keeping 1,3,4,6 & 8 would also make sense because they're all hd already.

However of course, logic often has very little to do with what they decide to do!!

Soooo... Rumour of World moving to BH on an earlier date, how will the 2130-2200 be shown on the NC? World news be broadcasted or a presenter in N9, N8 or TC7?

Also overnights on the NC? Will they come from the World News at BH or presenting from other TVC studios then?

When does World News & NC actually going to move to BH?
