A quick Google actually finds only that BBC Tours page, suggesting it is wrong. If Mike Neville says it's Broadcasting Centre, it's Broadcasting Centre Smile

http://www.bbc.co.uk/tyne/content/articles/2006/04/26/bbc_newcastle_tours_feature.shtml is probably where the error stems from then.

Check the footer on that page to be confused!

It doesn't matter so much not but in the period where both were operational (Radio moved before TV) differentiating the two buildings would have been important.

When is New Broadcasting House going to go live with the main news? Seems a missed opportunity not to use it in the run up to the Olympics.

2013

For a start, it's be said on here that many of the lines to link the new facilities to the rest of the BBC are being temporarily used for the Olympics, but probably more than that, you don't want to be trying to introduce brand new technology, in a brand new building during the most important event practically ever in the BBC's history.

Are the BBC already beginning the move to BH? That is what is implied in this article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-18627051

Yes - various bits and bobs, including BBC World Service are now there - it's not just BBC News TV that's moving there!

Take a look at photo 24 in that article - the BBC Newsroom all new and shiny back in 1998..

I wonder for how long the shiny new newsroom at BH will look like it does now...

Otherwise it won't be long before the Glass Window is either frosted to the point of near opacity or made redundant.

It is extremely cramped these days compared to that original image.

How odd that the flag glass design was put up in 1998 and within a year it was out of date - but has stayed there ever since.

If anyone has worked there, do you know why they decided to get rid of the 'central newsgathering hub'?

New BH is approximately 35-40% populated, parts of radio in particular being amongst the first to move in.
