Fantastic to see Brian Hanrahan's "I counted them all out, and I counted them all back" line from the Falkland's war coverage there. The man was a legend - and is sorely missed.
We have seen a similar image to this a few pages back, but this one shows the tracks on the right hand side of the studio much clearer. I am starting to wonder, why would they need / want a camera to track all the way around to the other side of the screen / back of the presenters?
I guess it could be as simple as "putting it out of the way"...
Am I right in thinking that the proper name for the ex-BBC building on Oxford Road in Manchester was "New Broadcasting House"? If so, is the re-brand of Broadcasting House in London official, or just a colloquialism in these 'ere forums and the like?!
There are plenty of buildings named "Broadcasting House" around the country, so there's no reason why there couldn't be more than one "New Broadcasting House".

I have heard the 'new' bit of BH described as 'New Broadcasting House'. It IS unfortunate, as to many BBC people NBH = Oxford Road (even if they didn't work there). At least the BBC moved out of NBH in Manchester before they opened New Broadcasting House in London.
It also feels as if the BBC are no longer wedded to abbreviated building names.
As for Broadcasting Houses - there were loads of them. The BBC TV HQ in Norwich was called Broadcasting House ISTR, prior to moving to the Forum...
