Suspect it's the foyer rather than a studio. Which makes sense - they've just set up the OB they planned to do a few miles away in the foyer working into the same OB scanner that they would have had in Bury. Although I guess they might have plugged the scanner into a convenient wallbox rather than going via satellite.

It came from the Ground Floor of Bridge House, in an area dubbed 'The Lab' - it's in the BBC Learning's office space where they have an area for school groups to come in and take part in educational activities. Looked like it was pre-recorded last night too.

This was the Saturday morning Olympic strand, which is meant to be an OB tying in with the Torch Relay and never meant to be in the studio. They were meant to be in Bury but decided against it due to the weather/floods situation.

Do Blue Peter have their own permanent studio with a standing set these days? They didn't at TVC - so would have had no guarantee of being able to use their regular set if they were still in London.
Also - if they have booked a full OB crew and facilities - it wouldn't be that cost effective to switch to a studio show (as not all the staff would be transferrable - but you'd still have to pay them, as well as the extra staff the studio needed).

To be fair, when you have a megathread for "things happening in buildings", it's hard to stray too far off topic.
This is all a bit off topc is it not..

What would have been more useful would have been to split off the blue peter stuff into a new thread, rather than killing the convo.
Something that could also be done with the hashtag discussion in the BBC One thread.
But what do I know #backseatmoderator

A couple of interesting things I've found. Firstly, Eddie Mair has again written about NBH in his column on Radio Times (wk. beginning 23 June) about his induction and getting a red BBC tag following the induction. Worth a read but I can't find online.
Secondly, the editors of TV Ark have been busy behind the scenes. After months of apparent inactivity they have created a new Broadcasting House page stuffed full of high resolution pictures of the building - wide shots and up close. Well worth a look: http://www2.tv-ark.org.uk/bbcother/bbc_nbh.html
It is all starting to come together so well, really looking forward to end result. Nice touches include the wall of quotes in the media cafe, the weather symbols and all he BBC nostalgia. Map shown would also be of interest to most as it lists all the programmes and where they will be.
