Was wondering why the wall on the right was so substantial, but looking at the picture below from the BH website, it seems it's the wall between the Media Café and the newsroom. I presume it can't be open for security reasons.

Radio 1 area looks nice...

Wow, this all looks great! I can't get over the niggly feeling that having a building furnished in such a contemporary way will date really quickly. I love the fact that the whole building is set up to be used for ad-hoc presentation spaces but as the décor ages will this reduce? Will the beeb need constant investment to keep it up to date?

One of the things that I love about TVC is that it has become so unapologetically old that the 50's and 60's elements now look wonderful. Like presenting from inside a TV cathedral...

Surely these two statements contradict each other.

I think the features in NBH will become as much a part of our lives that they will become timeless - just as TVC has become.

I hope so, but it's the 30 years in between that it takes for contemporary to stop looking old and looking vintage.

What's a suicide leap? Where is it, at the top of the Peel Wing?

As the post 2 back shows, the radio area has a pit around it that plunges several floors. Not for those with a problem with heights when they look over the edge. This is located in NBH close to where the new building meets with Old BH.
I do have a photo although posting here for some reason doesn't work....

BBC World Service have said on facebook today that its programme The World Today has been broadcast from Bush House for the last time today. I presume that means the English language news programmes will all be moving in over the next couple of weeks.

The last radio programme comes from Bush in around a months time IIRC. After that the building will be cleared out so that it can be handed back to the landlord.
