Even though I am glad ITV had ditched BD&A after their recent attempts, I am also surprised, as ITV has only just got their ITV Day lok off them.
Must be a very glum day for BDA, as IIRC they have created nearly all of ITV's logos and idents since the late 1990's, as they brought us the Hearts, the Celebrities and the Squares.
Though I'll be interested to see how (the soon to be privatised) BBC Broadcast will develop ideas for ITV. Though I'm guessing they'll be going for something brand new, which is really long overdue. Hopefully it may mean goodbye to the current [i t v] logo.
It wasnt all bad, the 2002 look was best, and the ITV1 2003 was okay, just a little messy, but it was since ITV2's revamp it went downhill, although ITV2's look was quite nice. The current ITV1 look is well, its so bad, but the christmas look was quite nice. Also, with a complete rebrand, that means they have to change all the logos on their regional buildings, computers, TV, all websites, a big challange by the Aututmn isnt it?
The BBC managed it a few years ago. But ITV will no doubt leave bits... good branding and consistency isn't exactly their thing is it?
More exciting than the plain BBC.
*snort*. As bad as some of the BBC branding may be, it's no-where near as boring as ITV's Presentation!
How can it be boring, the variety of idents they've provided on ITV1 over the last 3 weeks?, along with the fact that the main ones are fairly rare these days that they actually 'do what they say on the tin' and don't try to be anything they are not.
Also the fact that if Doctor Who was on ITV1, you know they would have made special idents for it.

Looking at www.bbcbroadcast.com, there's some really nice work on there, including of course the much praised new News 24 countdown, so it could be promising news for some decent ITV idents. I'm guessing there may be some glum faces at Bruce Dunlop Associates today.
