I'd agree with Brookside, Fawlty Towers, Krypton Factor and AbFab. No way do I ever want to see more OFAH, it's been repeated to death over the years and lost it's value. I'd also like to see a return of the old school TOTP, Birds of a Feather, and Crystal Maze.

Some of the cast and crew thought the 'final' era was just to kill it off so the Nottingham Studios, which were not making money and never really did, could be sold off.
There was also the issue that the Carlton executives/Granada bosses were not that keen on 'Crossroads' anyway, (the boss who brought it back had long gone) so it wasn't wanted.
1982-1997 was a fantastic era, then it went down hill trying to always out-do itself and go one better. If it was going to come back then it needs to get back to its roots and be more like it was in its first decade.

Didn't the entire cast get shot up by armed robbers in the final episode? There was a helicopter involved. That's all I remember.

I think with Brookside the only way it could work now is as a weekly one-hour show, probably best at 9pm, perhaps with a "First Look" on E4 following at 10pm.
I think if it returned in any form though it would be as a spin-off of the original.

No that was about 18 months - 2 years before it finished. I did have the last episode on tape but I accidently chucked it out

I don't know where you got the 355pm from as a child I always used to watch crossroads at either 515pm, 6pm or 635pm, dependent when Granada scheduled it, and the new version (mk2 and NOT mk3) I taped and watched at 6 as I was either still getting home from work or it was scheduled against Neighbours!!
edited bit...
Anyway I stand by what I say mk 2 started off absolute rubbish but near the end it was getting grittier and better and would have easily given the other main soaps (esp Emmerdale) a run for their money!!!
Did Phil get sent down, did they eventually catch his fathers murderer? Was Jill Chance actually dead, where has Adam been hiding since the crypt fire? Has the American invested heavily into the Hotel to turn into into an international conference centre? has Kings Oak had a massive housing estate built in it????????????

Well both new versions of Crossroads were awful. A bit like The Royal Today just cashing in on a popular brand.
Although the original seems to be back 'in fashion' the latest DVD of the original episodes was a best seller on the Network DVD site for the past week or so.
So had Carlton not knackered it up, I guess Granada might have revived it to fill a daytime gap now. Although Granada hated how popular the original was and had it on at 3.55pm when the rest of the UK had it a lot later.

From the TV Times, as part of the fan clubs research. Granada may have moved it later on, and I think they did move it eventually, but initally when Crossroads had 2 or 3 episodes a week beating usually one or sometimes both of the Coronation Street episodes they had it in the early afternoon to try and stop that.
ATV and most other regions showed it at 6 or 6.30, some areas, TSW I think and HTV Wales showed it at 5.15.
As for MK2, it was a very nice new show, but should never have been trading in on the Crossroads brand.

I believe John Cleese doesn't want to do another series or epi of Fawlty . He doesn't want people thinking it wasn't good as it was, so he's leaving it on a high. As somebody pointed out earlier, many of the cast members are dead now anyway.
Pauline Quirk and Linda Robson have been asked about BOAF; think they've toyed with the idea, but my impression is they're letting by-gones be by-gones.
I think reviving sitcoms for one-offs can work-- Allo Allo was done really well last year I thought.

Monty Python - according to Terry Jones in an article published on Reuters today, he says such a programme like Monty Python would never be commissioned in this day and age as apparently audience surveys suggest they don't like this sort of material.
Odd that because I'd say (once again, some may argue) it is more suited today in this Little Britain age than ever before. Although maybe in its case, the 'ministry of silly humour' is over.
I thought it was a bit of a strange thing to say from Terry as well.
Mind you, the Ministry of Silly Walks sketch did surprise John Cleese as apparently he was a bit upset that everybody considers it one of the best sketches that Python ever did. Yet its the sort of thing that would happen on a Little Britain sketch.

Keeping Up Appearances would probably be able to make a successful comeback. Just a one-off revival but unlike some of the recent revivals I think the show would be able to come back relatively unaltered, but for the older cast.
