I'm pretty confused now. The BCA website claims the awards will show tomorrow (5th) at 9pm on ITV1, though on my EPGs, ITV1 are showing The 40 Year Old Virgin. Anyone know what's going on?
I can't see where it says the show will be shown on ITV - just
"This years show will take place on December 5th"
. They are still happening...just not on TV.

Hover the cursor over the message and it appears saying it's on ITV1.
Lets put it this way, if it is on ITV1 or television anywhere for that matter there would surely be promos or teasers for it by now.
The official website confirms its definately taking place tomorrow (5th December) sponsored by Highland Spring at The London Studios: http://www.britishcomedyawards.com. Now whether it'll be shown recorded on TV at a later date is anyone's guess but I should think not.
In ITV's case, it's as if they are now punishing viewers because they've complained about their "pretty phone operations" and are sucking up to Ofcom big style. AIUI some may disagree but I thought The BCA was a hit with viewers. How comes The X Factor voting still goes ahead then? Pathetic excuse to be honest and yes I'm miffed!
Even though there is no TV coverage (though ITV are still filming it I believe), it's being held much early than usual isn't it? I'm sure last year it was less than a week before Christmas.
I've filed a quick email to Duty Office but I doubt it'll be of use... If anything I'm more annoyed its not going to be shown live or with time delay.

PROGRAMME: The British Comedy Awards 2007
Dear Sir/Madam,
Could you please inform me of a valid reason as to why The British Comedy Awards are not being shown on ITV1 this year? I understand they are taking place live as usual this evening at The London Studios but there has been no promos of teasers for it on any of your channels.
For the years it has been taking place, The British Comedy Awards has been a popular strand of entertainment with a large majority of viewers and many feel disheartened and angry that they will not be able to watch it live on ITV1 this year.
It has been rumoured that the show is not going to be broadcast due to the phone scandal that ITV was heavily involved in and the fact that viewers will need to interact for The People's Choice award. Quite frankly this is not an acceptable excuse given that programmes such as The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity.. still take place and involve voting interaction from viewers.
I anticipate a reply from or on behalf of the relevant member of staff addressing the points I have made.
I didn't expect much in terms of an explanation to be honest but the excuse for it not being shown live is truly pathetic at the moment. If anyone knows otherwise, do tell. It would just be nice to have a valid reason.
