Sky One will probably nab it if ITV1 don't show it.

ITV have paid £700,000 for filming rights to make sure no other broadcaster nabs it. It will be shown on ITV, whether it's shown live or not is the question. Loads of comedians (Today it's Jack Dee) have accused ITV of double standards for keeping GMTV X-factor and Ant & Dec on yet they're punishing the Comedy Awards for - what in comparison- is a small one off misdemeanor.

Typical ITV then. It'll probably be recorded and butchered to bits this year.

I don't see why they won't air it live, it's stupid. Would they take X Factor or Ant & Dec off air? I doubt it.

They should air it, bar the two shows that are up for gongs it's the funniest thing on ITV through the year.

It is very silly, surely the best course of action is to show it but not include a phone vote element... it's not essential to the programme at all.

Either that or the the production company should just put it online and bypass ITV altogether

I can't say I'll miss the BCA... it's just another excuse for industry back-patting and another vehicle for the rapidly dwindling talent of Jonathan Ross.

Its one of the funniest shows on ITV1 all year. That may say more for ITV1 comedy than the comedy awards but it will be a shame if they don't show it live just because of a 'phone vote scandel' that was only caused by ITV1 treating the show badly and dropping the news in to the middle it in the first place.

That's very true, I know that they should have worked around ITV1's schedule, but it was annoying how the news was dropped into the middle.

I'm sure that years ago they used to do it on a Saturday night from around 9pm.
