Just a heads up. Britannia High has (according to this) a live episode on now with a "mix of live and pre-recorded matierial".

Not sure which bits are live and which bits are recorded. The whole show has 'live' style subtitles and the flashing box in the corner just before the break which seems to only be used on live shows nowadays.

Thanks for the warning.

No surprise then this turned into the flop it did, considering Rock Rivals went the same way, as did the far superior Nearly Famous on E4.

About 1.3 million watched it. It was beaten by Hole In The Wall on 4.8 milion and the umpteenth showing of the Dad's Army movie with 2.8 million. To say Britannia High was a flop is an understatement!! Shocked

Probably the biggest flop of the year then - even Rock Rivals managed to stay above 2m.

It's a shame in some ways because this year ITV did try to take a different approach to it's drama, but it's really not paid off at all. I think the only new drama from 2008 set to return next year is The Fixer.

It's a shame it's a flop, watching the Behind the Scenes documentary gave you the feeling that they were very strict on who got casted etc..

I haven't watched an episode but by all accounts it was a decent show.

From reading elsewhere it seems that those who watched it did like it, unlike other flop shows where everyone seems to dislike it

It's just that the numbers were too low to be sustainable on ITV1, most normal episodes were around the 2m mark

It looked like a Saturday teatime show rather than a primtime Sunday show, like those old S Club 7 series and specials.

I'm just wondering would it have done better on ITV2? Maybe them even repeating it on CITV Channel or something, it just reminded me of S Club 7's Miami/LA 7 (which I used to love when I was younger)

Yes and do you remember when they did those specials what time did they usually go out? Saturday teatime. That's where this programme should have been shown.

I'd have thought the logical place to schedule it would be between the live X Factor shows on a Saturday - it certainly could have done with the boost more than Family Fortunes.

It needed to be 'spiced up' and run post watershed.
