Typical xenophobia towards Scotland- no way should Brekkie get an apology for his comments, and yours are equally disgraceful. Pure and simply this claim of a 'Scottish vote' can be put to bed by the fact that the greatest export BGT has made, namely Susan Boyle, did NOT win. And she's Scottish. And amazing.
People love to drag up Leon Jackson and Michelle McManus as examples of such a vote, yet fail to explain why other Scottish acts in reality competitions HAVENT won and equally, why sub-standard English acts have won. Fame Academy's Alex Park was just as much of a dud as David Sneddon was, arguably more so, but no-one drags her up. Additionally, I haven't seen Joe McElderry set the heather alight? At least Leon got 2 top-5 hits and a top 5 album!
Enough already, the argument is nonsense and groundless.

I don't think Brekkie was slagging off the Scottish people, just pointing out that Cowell must feel that way. He's not saying Scots are bad for voting for their own and he can correct me if I'm wrong.
And the fact is Scousers will vote for people from Liverpool, Welsh people will vote for Welsh people and Brummies will not doubt vote for Brummies in many cases regardless of talent.
It just happens Scot's are probably the largest such group.
Also 623058 made his argument on the basis they'd been no Scottish winners of shows Cowell stood to make money from, so his argument was flawed.

Maybe Scots like English people who wanted her to win thought that she was a sure bet so didn't feel the need to waste their money?

I could understand the "Scottish Vote" malarkey if maybe Jai had been an anagram of carp, but I thought he was by far the best tonight. Ronan was wet, and New Bounce disappointed as they chose an inappropriate song for who they are - they were amazing in the semi final as they sounded fresh and current. Tonight they sounded like karaoke.
If anybody's interested, this is a copy of the blog entry that caused all hell to break loose with regards to Simon Cowell and Ronan Parke. Ronan posted the link on his Facebook wall.
It is to my mind a wonderful piece of eccentric fabrication but you can understand from it why Syco and Simon Cowell reacted in the way they did:

The Daily Mail is now reporting that the entire saga was a publicity stunt!
It's stuff like this that will be the inevitable death of Britain's Got Talent and X Factor. Increasing amounts of people are losing interest in the show as they see familiar judges replaced, idiotic people sent through to the final instead of the 'talented' ones and then all the scandal in the newspapers. People are really getting tired of Cowell's gimmicks.
I also have a feeling this year's X Factor is going to be a flop, with unfamilar judges and no Simon there. There's a reason Cowell's putting his time into America - I'm sure he knows the appeal for these shows in Britain is disappearing!

I wouldn't be surprised if Jedward and Wagner did more for X Factor's ratings than Cheryl ever did.

The ratings don't back this up

People said the same about BGT, and that has worked well without Simon.

Always interesting to see the voting breakdown and so glad ITV and SYCO have in recent years always released it (ublike Strictly), though it would be interesting to see the number of votes they get to as I don't think we've ever had any indication of how many votes BGT receives. Most nights panned out the way youd expect I thnk, though have to laugh at Popeye getting double the vote of Mr & Mrs.

Thanks Jon for bringing some common sense to proceedings - it is just a matter of fact that acts from certain parts of the country will always generate strong local support. Some people take comments on here way too seriously - it was merely an observation, not a declaration of war. If Ronan had won we'd probably be talking about the teen vote.
It will be interesting to see the direction he takes from here though - Simon was making comparisons with Josh Groban last night but I don't see that myself. He is undoubtedly a strong singer and will do well at the Royal Variety and I can see him doing things like the anthems at Murreyfield/Hampden Park - but commercially I'm not so sure he'll be considered a success - but hey, BGT isn't about that anyway.
You can guarantee though that Ronan will probably get a guest slot on America's Got Talent and Jai won't.
A Lanarkshire great-grandmother who made it to the finals of Britain's Got Talent has died.
Janey Cutler, 82, was found in her Wishaw home by her family on Monday.
Her performance of the Edith Piaf hit Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien at the auditions won her a place in the competition, and she became one of the most popular contestants on the show in 2010.
Following her performance of Shirley Bassey's This is My Life that got her into the final, judge Simon Cowell said to her: "You epitomise this show.
