Anyone else feel Simon's return actually hasn't done the show any favours this year. The Hoff seems a bit put out by it which is a shame as usually he's been spot on this week, while Michael obviously has a big man crush/fear of being fired and has been curtailed by his need to agree with anything Simon says. It's also interesting how many of the acts are more interested in getting positive feedback from judges who may not have liked them at the auditions rather than the praise of Simon Cowell.

Hopefully as this year has actually worked out OK with Michael, Amanda and David next year Simon will see it is for the best to remove himself completely.

God, that impressionist was even worse than the awful one from last year who ITV were stupid enough to give their own show too - a show which subsequently flopped!

His Kevin Webster is spot on though.

But evidence his act was born in the eighties - out of one impression. All the rest of generic accents at best, and the act itself is very, very, weak. One of the least entertaining acts of the last five years IMO.

Are you serious? I didn't think he was THAT bad....

I like Simons presence but he didn't really need to come back. But it was probably pre-planned just in case the show bombed without him, but it has held up OK. He will probably quit altogether next year.

His semi-final routine was almost identical to his audition routine, and he can only impersonate about seven people.

I think that's a bit harsh on the impressionist from last year. His show was just a one off to fill the schedule out over the Christmas/New Year period. According to Wikipedia, it got 3.7 million viewers.

Do you get off on writing strongly opinionated yet unsubstantiated drivel?

If you'd done your research in another tab, you'd have probably noticed that Paul Burling's show was a pilot and a one-off. Not everything that disappears after one airing is a flop. Also Mr Burling didn't just suddenly appear out of thin air on the back of BGT, he's a professional voiceover artist. Not a one-hit wonder

Personally, I thought Les was rubbish compared to Mike from the first series and, of course, Paul Burling. I can't comment on his Kevin Webster as I don't watch Corrie. A couple of his impressions were so-so but even my mum had to ask me who he was impersonating. I found myself closing my eyes to picture the person in question - it didn't work.

It's even more infuriating when you realise how somebody like Cal didn't make it through:

Hmm. This, from my pal Mark.

Cowell has (unsurprisingly) denied the claims.

Him from last night was better than him in the clip. The one in the clip's Eamonn Holmes sounds more like Kirsty Young! And an impressionist is never good if they have to tell you who they are supposed to be.
