Can't believe they put eye-popping man through ahead of a couple of the acts eliminated in the sudden death showdown tonight. Indeed by far the weakest top 40 they've ever had with no obvious front runners IMO as the best acts just aren't on a par with the favourites of previous years.
Would serve them right if eye-popping man won!
Eye Popping Man ain't going to win. If the eyepopper wins something's gone wrong somewhere, major big-time.
Ronan Parke is the bookie's favourite at the moment, followed by Razy Gogonea and Jai Mcdowall.
Ronan doesn't have the magic that Susan Boyle had a couple of years back, but he is definitely in with a shout.
Ant and Dec just made a quip to Simon, asking him if he could understand their accent! Simon managed to wriggle out of answering any questions, though.

The new set looks fantastic, much improved on last year and ironically looks a lot bigger, depsite being smaller.
I disagree - I think last years looked better. This years looks like a BBC set, bar the screen at the back. Also think tonight is proving Simon was right last year when he said 4 judges doesn't work - he's upset the balance of the panel tonight by returning.
As for the show - pretty much a washout talentwise until the last couple of acts. Also very tired of the plugs for the tour at the end of each show.

4 judges definitely doesn't work. David just looked as though he invited himself to sit on the panel and was a spare part. They should have ditched him for the live shows. That's something to look at for next year, whether its David or someone else. I feel Amanda, Michael and Simon work together very well.
I'd disagree about the Hoff - I thought he was brilliant tonight in the difficult position of shutting the crowd up to give his comments. Michael seemed the weak link, trying to be the nice guy then throwing a gag in.
I'm not sure about 4 on the panel, but I've never enjoyed 4 on the X Factor Panel either.
I've enjoyed the mix of Amanda, Michael & The Hoff through the auditions, I didn't think they needed to bring back Simon, although bringing him back makes me realise how much of a presence he has, and how he seems to say what everyones thinking which the others don't.
The set is a mix of last years BGT & X Factor sets, but works in a way, especially on the log sweeping shots through the arches. The set does look smaller than The X Factor's, and if it's from the fountain studios, I don't understand why it does so.
The one thing I don't like is how they've adopted the X Factor style of going straight from the end of the performance to the judges, that Ive always found very odd as the presenter is there to control the situation.
The stage seemed to have more than a hint of similarity to this year's Eurovision set.
I noticed on one shot in particular, on Ant & Dec's main two-shot there seemed to be a slight flicker throughout. It looked very similar to when an incorrect shutter speed is set. Something else might be causing it, although it didn't seem noticeable on any other shots.

I agree with you Brekkie. The Daily Express Saturday magazine reported that the new set is worth £1million, but in my eyes, it is certainly substandard in comparison to last years. It seems this was change for change's sake!
Its also odd that the audition background is so bright and garish, yet the studio looks like some underground tunnel/bunker with a few fancy lights in comparison!
I'm trying to work out why The X Factor gets a bloody massive stage when it's just a person up there singing, if not a few singers, yet BGT has a stage a fraction of the size when they've got dance troupes, stunt men and God knows what...
