Or is that because Cowell and his team aren't attempting to manipulate the contest again, by stelthfully promoting one act above all the others by putting stories in the press so the publicity machine becomes a reletless monster and it appears to the casual viewer that it's already sewn up before the live finals have started?
I also don't think singers (unless singing is just a part of their act) should be allowed to take part - that's what X Factor is for.
The show defiantly peaked last year. It feels very flat this year.

Yeah but for example Paul Potts and especaily Susan Boyle or any opera/classical singers would not get through the X Factor - it's a it's only really for pop type singers.
Plus tonight your've got the young kids group, plus plently of other young singers that can't go on the X factor because there under 16.
If you actaully think about it, out of the top 40 there isn't really anyone that would be able to enter the X Factor because as i said, either being opera singers or too young.

Red button viewers and digital viewers are not the same. Red Button viewers are viewers on a platform where the red button does something. Pressing red on ITV1 via Freeview probably does nothing. I don't know about Freesat. Viewers watching on a FTA satellite receiver would not be able to press the red button either.
"Red Button viewers can press their Red Button"
Why is it scripted like that on the autocue, surely it should be "Digital viewers..."
