Call me an old cynic, but isn't the typical trick of putting out "favourite" acts last, (just as the lines are opened) being employed here ?
Why not put out the old woman singing last ?

You don't stick a dud act at the end of a variety show - that would suck for the viewer.
The placement in the running order almost certainly will have an impact on how people vote - but lets not kid ourselves that these shows are "fair" in that sense.

The two things at the side remind me of American Idol, and the circle in the middle a bit of the BBC1 musical shows, and I see what you mean with Takeaway too.
Prediction: Tomorrow's acts:
The competition seems far more dominated by dance acts than singers this year.

Isn't the set for the live shows from a early series of Takeaway?
It reminds me of something!

Once again the last act is straight through - but completely deserved it this time IMO. I got that wrong yesterday then, but George really stepped it up a gear from his audition.
Probably the right choice on Strike too, though it's a shame about Charlie - I thought he was the potential winner, and he was far, far better than Andrew Johnson last night. Much more enjoyable to watch someone who is actually enjoying what they're doing.
I think really these shows could do with an extra act getting through each night, or a wildcard show or something.

Another good show then, thought that last dance act was superb.
I did feel a bit uncomfortable though with that illusionist act. Humiliation on live TV, but that's what you risk I guess when you enter these competitions.
Incidentally, why are all the illusionists really poor ?

I'm enjoying the semi finals at the moment, teh judges are good viewing, the acts have been great so far, especially last night, 5 of them could have easily gone through for me and Ant & Dec are on top form.
As for the set, it's just a slightly revamped version of last years, but I must say how much I prefer the set for Britain's Got Talent to that of the X Factor. The BGT set looks big on screen, with a spacious performance area, and the audience doesn't seem to be that small. Where with the current/last X Factor set it's been created to give room for more studio audience which to me makes the set look very small, quite long across, but very small, especially when you compare it to the original X Factor set used for the first 2 series.
Maybe it's just me.

Heard that Piers Morgan is to be a judge on at least two more series of Britain's Got Talent.
Is it me or is he just a horror of a man? Literally the only bad thing about BGT. I was really hoping he'd get kicked off after this one. He's just dire.
