Yep, Simon, Piers and Amanda are back for a new series of 'Britain's Got Talent'.

The audtions are already on and have started in Manchester.

Ant & Dec will present again on the main ITV1 show, and Stephen Mulhern will present 'Britain's Got More Talent' for ITV2.

This year, however, the show will be broadcast primetime on a Saturday night rather than nightly. There will be upto seven 'audition' shows and then the main live shows will start. The winner again will perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of HRH The Prince of Wales.

Below is a photo I took at this afternoons audtions in Manchester showing the stage area.

Tickets for the audtions in Glasgow, Birmingham, London and Cardiff are still available at The Applause Store.

It was a good laugh this afternoon!

EDIT: Forgot - they haven't updated their website yet mind (http://talent.itv.com).

I drove past the Theatre in Manchester yesterday where they were holding the auditions, you should have seen the queue! But it has been well promoted on Local Radio.

I do wonder if it will actually be broadcast on a Sunday rather than a Saturday to fill the void left by Dancing on Ice ...

How many audition shows did they have last year - was it something like Sat-Wed?

I hope they don't have as many as 7 - I hate the way the X Factor auditions are dragged out, just to focus on the bad acts, and wouldn't want to see BGT go the same way - even though the live audience at auditions makes them much more watchable.

Personally I'd opt for stripping the auditions across one week, then perhaps having a second round selection show and then getting straight into the heats.

As for Saturday vs Sunday - IMO this fits better on Sunday than Dancing on Ice or The X Factor, but it be interesting to see if Simon Cowell has pulled rank and insisted on a Saturday night slot - as that would be a clear indication The X Factor won't be moving either.

BGT will be broadcast on a Saturday night during primetime. According to Mr Cowell at yesterday's auditions he said that it will be in 'roughly the same timeslot as X Factor'.

Strangely enough local BBC TV news did a report on 'Britains Got Talent' because some locals got into the second round or something. Confused

If anyone can remember the fat girl who auditioned for X Factor then got carried out on a throne at the final, well she has apparently auditioned for BGT Laughing

Not in Manchester yesterday she didn't.

Piers auditioned with a group of kids playing upside down dustbins mind!

I expected it would air on a Saturday night this time around rather than being stripped across a week as ITV need a big ratings winner for its sping/early summer Saturday schedules after the flop that was Grease is the Word last year. However everyone here said it wouldnt because of Simon's schedule now allowing for so many Saturday night shows.

Also nothing has ever been said about X Factor moving to Sundays so I dont know where people get this idea from. Dancing on Ice is a completely different show with celebs in it for a start.

How about Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell? I hear they make very good targets.
