I havent seen a thread for this yet but it starts on Saturday on ITV1 and will run for 9 consecutive nights with the final on 17th June.

Acts will have 2 minutes to impress the judges - Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden and can do anything.

The winner will get £100,000 and also perform at this years Royal Variety Performance in front of the Queen.

I see this is up against Big Brother most nights so I wonder how well it will do. I might give it a try and see whats its like - with Simon on the panel it should be good.

A similar show which I like is Let Me Entertain You which is transmitted on BBC2 weekdays evenings at 6.30pm. Hosted by Brian Conley, the judges are the audience in which acts have up to 3 minutes to entertain them in return for a cash prize.

Did Let Me Entertain You come before Americas Got Talent? I remember LMEY was on during the summer last year.

As for Britains Got Talent, i do want to see it and i think BGT will beat Big Brother for obvious reasons.

Britain's Got Talent is on at 9pm, I thought Big Brother aired at 10pm?

I think its only Tuesday night they wont clash as BB is 9pm most nights next week (and Saturday obviously as BB isnt on).

An 8.30pm episode of Corrie followed by Britains Got Talent will air on Friday 15th. I hope Corrie wipes the floor with BB.

Britain's Got Talent goes on until 10.30 some nights.

Isn't it about time Simon Cowell invented a show that wasn't Pop Idol with a minor twist?

This show was originally supposed to have gone out before America's Got Talent, with Paul O'Grady planned as the original host but his defection to Channel 4 meant ITV didn't want him ever to appear on the channel again, so the hunt for a new host began. Simon and Paul spoke about it on his ITV1 chat show which was back in 2005, so yes Britains Got Talent came before Let Me Entertain You.

And i think they were going to call it Paul O'Gradys Got Talent.

Piers has already been in trouble for making a six year old girl cry in the US-version.

I believe that that Fern Britton was to appear on the show as a panelist back in the day, but that role has been fulfilled by Amanda Holden it would seem.

Plus Paul O'Grady was slagging Simon Cowell over his treatment of Kate Thornton the other day, so I sense relations between POG and Mr Cowell are a touch frosty perhaps, coupled with POG's bust-up with ITV!

Something else to avoid.

3 of my least favourite people involved.

Cowell, he's an smug a**e,

Moron, he's a bigger a**e,

Holden, some of us won't forget what she did to Les Dennis. She was nobody before she married him. Certainly I only vaguely remembered her in Eastenders!
