Did they keep the virtual audience around for the result or cut you off beforehand?
Turns out nobody had 2020 vision.

We saw the whole show, result included!

Surely if Ashley Banjo is filling in for Simon, he should be Head Judge?

He's filling the empty chair, but it makes sense for Amanda to be head judge, she's the longest serving, having been there since the beginning.

The problem for Simon is you notice how much better the judging panel is if Simon is away!

I didn't quite get the voting either, I thought it would be top 3, judges vote for 1 then the public decide between the remaining 2 rather than being wide open

Also something really minor is bugging me! Did they play the usual 'du du da da de da da da' whilst introducing the acts for the results, I thought I heard it but the 'audience' noise was drowning everything out! Here is what I'm on about...

I only saw some of it last night, did they explain how Ant ad Dec didn't need to be socially distant?

Might have been a good example to give if they were seen to be further apart than usual

They touched on the fact they've formed a bubble at the start of the show. They were on This morning earlier in the week, with Holly and Phil, and explained that they're being tested every 4 days in order to form a professional bubble (referencing the fact it's like they're professional footballers!). They're doing a lot of promo for their book and will go on to do I'm a Celebrity in a couple of months times - once BGT finishes) so I assume it makes complete sense for them to form a bubble.

I'm assuming the only reason the likes of Holly and Phil aren't doing the same is the nature of their other, independent, projects and personal lives? Otherwise I'd have thought it valuable to create a bubble for them while they're on air everyday.

Holly and Phil did seem a bit pissed off they hadn't been given the option. "Extended household" bubbles are a thing in Wales, but didn't realise they were in England- though it seems to be only if you have the money to get tested regularly.

They are a thing in England, but only if one of the households involved is a single adult household.

Maybe they didn't go down that route for Phil and Holly is that if either has symptoms both would have to isolate?
Write that down in your copybook now.

They’d also have to do the constant testing for months on end, whereas BGT’s run of not-quite-live shows is comparatively short.

True, though got the impression they were continuing through to I'm a Celeb.

Back to BGT and thankfully they played last nights show out as live after using an awkward hybrid format last year for BGT Champions where they cut in judges and audience comments into the show.

Also really nice set - thought it would feel small after the Apollo but probably the biggest stage they have had with effectively three possible presentation areas, the main being to the side. Nice that the backdrop to two thirds of it wasn't just a screen too.

Also their families are very different to Ant and Dec's. Holly has school aged kids and I've no idea what Phil's living arrangements are now but it would affect whatever his kids do, and his wife if they're still sharing a house
