Looks like they also forgot to put the clock forward an hour for British Summer Time! It's an hour slow! Laughing[/quote]
Some facilities run in GMT all year round.

Those colour bars are generated by some BT video over IP kit - they'll chuck them out on loss of input. (It probably also means it's a BT typo).

The Sun's headline is "Britain’s Got Talent goes off air for almost 15 minutes in MASSIVE technical blunder due to the bad weather". I mean, you could maybe argue it was a blunder to not install some fibre, but that ain't cheap...

There was also the screen that came up that said “Signal Loss Detected” that looked a bit like when you unplug the cable from the back of a PC monitor.

I just watched on +1 and didn’t see anything other than a picture freeze up - no colour bars or anything else. Was it region dependent? I’m in Westcountry area.

There were all kinds of fun and games here, it took ages for the card to come up, which as I’m watching on HD is ITV Granada

There were so many different bits, and even the breakdown slide kept going on an off, it did seem like there were multiple feeds each failing as the previous one went wrong.

I saw this fault on the recording I’ve got in progress on my Sky box from ITV HD, only noticed when my wife said what’s wrong with the tv? lol

Apparently viewers on ITV HD Meridian also didn't see the colour bars or No Signal message.

Is this down to the two playout centres, or am I talking tommyrot?

At least they kept the music playing and didn't restart it every 30 seconds like they did a while ago.

But all in all, at the risk of sounding a bit like Alan Partridge, that was a cracking breakdown. Textbook.

Failing to get a standby programme to play is always a winner for me.

I didn't see the colour bars on ITV+1 in London.

Perhaps Leeds (it is still Leeds, isn't it?) take their main downlinks from Salford, and Chiswick downlink their own, hence different failures.

Two trucks outside.... Im guessing more a distribution issue internally than a failure at the sat truck(s), or maybe a central OB issue.

Unfortunately I wasn't watching at the time (and just saw about the issues on here) but there is a satellite feed on 12.5W called ITV1 - BGT Main which I presume is the one used from the venue.

Coming in at an incredible 14db too. They must have turned the wick right up to try power through the rain. Sad

I wonder how the technical problems looked on TV3...
