Network had the CA talking over a music bed, then over the auditions back-up tape.

And the music didn’t keep restarting like last time there was a breakdown. The CA did ok
It wasn't actually a breakdown that time - you're referring to the ITV News fire alarm.

Lots of thunder across London in the last few minutes, in case that might have something to do with it.

Yep just over West London right now, and with ITV playout being in Chiswick it’s right in the firing line

Only place in England it's raining!

I've never actually seen purple rain on this site before - https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar

That’s where Prince got the idea for his song! 😉

Meanwhile, someone can’t spell “Media”...

Hasn't BGT had a breakdown before - cutting to highlights of the auditions seemed familiar. Lost an additional break though it seems by crashing into part two - seems an unwillingness to cut to ads during a breakdown.

I'm surprised the Apollo doesn't have circuits to BT Tower, it's used for TV often enough.

I don’t think much of it is live though, so perhaps not the need for circuits?

That sort of highlight reel is a common standby for that type of live show, I know Strictly has similar.

Probably too complicated with the ads being regionalised.

I expect it’s because taking a break within a breakdown, with the possibility of still being in a breakdown after the break would just be bizarre

Not sure about BGT but X Factor had something similar once where they had to start late, that was padded out with clips of auditions.

Probably about to be on +1 for those who missed the breakdown earlier!

Looks like they also forgot to put the clock forward an hour for British Summer Time! It's an hour slow! Laughing

That’ll be because they tend to use GMT on feed testcards ...
