I think people are just overreacting.

Also, it may have been BGT's idea to use another dog for a stunt, so Jules shouldn't be blamed.

No, it was Jules and it was for good reason. The act was never sold as a tightroping dog, it was a story and that just facilitated the story. At no point either were viewers told that Mastisse had crossed the tightrope - people just made the assumption. And it is Jules herself who confirmed it during interviews, rather than it being exposed by the tabloids. I also believe the sausages were not stolen, Jules isn't a policewoman (or toy maker or dog catcher) and that three legged dog didn't live in a box on the stage.

Still a deserving winner - and at least people didn't see how they performed their tricks, unlike the lousy magician in second place.

If Jules has to give up her winning title (which I highly doubt) I will be so mad.

Jules was one of the best acts in the final (personally I prefered Old Men Grooving) and deserved to win.

People just want to complain about anything...

The amazement of the act was that the woman was able to train an animal to do that! Not which particular dog actually did it.

I agree a very deserving winner.

I just don't understand why she didn't bring the dog out at the end of the routine.

Yeah, what's annoying is the deception. She should have admitted it at the time, not the next morning on Good Morning Britain! I doubt it would have changed the result. It doesn't matter which dog is was, tightrope walking is still an amazing feat.

As for the magician, the camera operators are to blame for that one - should have shown it at a different angle or slightly further away so you couldn't see the lemon was pre-cut. I'm sure the studio audience couldn't see how it was done.

Sums it up when even the commenters on the Daily Mail article think it's a ridiculous ruling. OFCOM have got this one wrong IMO and failed to appreciate that there is often a bit of trickery and misdirection in many variety acts.

True. If Jamie the magician had won the contest would there be uproar because he had two cards/changed cards/however he did the trick?

No, because his act was a magic act. Her's was meant to be one dog doing tricks.
