Has anyone seen the stage for tonights semi-final?? Is it similar to last years??

From a brief glimpse on Vine looks like the same set as last year.

Tonight's semi-finalists have been revealed:

With it being wide open this year I put three bets on earlier for the winner and they're all on tonights show - Darcy Oake (10/1), Patsy May (100/1) and Lauren and Tyrell (100/1). Only see Collabro as competition to them tonight so hopefully the nation won't like them as much as Cowell & co.

Is there a specific reason why BGT have ditched the opening titles all together this year? Is it a time saver or something like that? I just don't like the way the show starts with the panning of the gold logo and generic break sting.

Not to mention the main titles have looked like a quick draft version as opposed to the final render look of the last few series'.

Exactly, I don't understand why they don't use their proper titles. I think their most recent package looked great! Like you say, what they have at the moment looks like a draft. It appears to be a pattern with many shows now, the main titles almost seem like an inconvenience and over time they get shorter and shorter.

I've found this odd as well. A good set of opening titles with catchy titles is exactly what you want to start a big entertainment show, The X Factor titles don't half get the blood pumping! I actually think that's one of the (many) reasons why The Voice often fails to connect with viewers, you don't go into the programme with any particular sense of excitement.

Last year they ditched the titles for the Golden thing in the Lives, thought it was odd, and it was even weirder when a similar thing was used for the auditions this year!! I think that its more of a titles for a youtube video rather than a 1.5 hour programme!!

BGT, Dancing on Ice and The X Factor have all ditched their opening titles in recent years for short stings etc.

I hadn't even realised the live shows had started. There seems to be very little buzz around the show this year.

Football on friday, fifth semi-final is on saturday, so they've taken the final over a week partly for better viewing figures probably!

They did the same last year - officially it's to give the acts more time to prepare as it was always a bit tight on the acts from the last semi-final especially.

Would have made more sense though IMO to run the final auditions show last weekend (with editions on Sat & Sun), then the semis Sun-Thu this week, then have a fully fledged Wild Card show with the 5 acts eliminated from the top 3's plus one each per judge from the rest. Quite surprised actually they're doing the wildcard again this year considering neither have made an impact over the last couple of years.
