Just seen this 'Top 10' in today's Daily Mail magazine 'Night and Day'. The places in Britain with the highest percentage of digital/satellite/cable television are:

1 - Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire - 41.1%
2 - Mountain Ash, Wales - 38.9%
3 - Choppington, Northumberland - 38.5%
4 - Maesteg, Wales - 36.6%
5 - Abertillery, Wales - 36.5%
6 - Bargoed, Wales - 36.3%
7 - Cramlington, Northumberland - 36.2%
8 - Aberdare, Wales - 36.1%
9 - Blyth, Northumberland - 36/0%
10 - Runcorn, Cheshire - 35.9%

I wonder why Northumberland and Wales seem to be digital/cable/satellite hotspots?

Probably because of the landscape, in both Northumberland and Wales there are lots of hills and the reception is so woefully s**t!
So people turn to Sky for better picture. Also, a lot of people here in Wales who have digital so that they can watch the english Channel 4.
My village is a minidish spotters paradise, of the 100 or so houses there must be at least 45 or so with Sky!
