BBC One reveals a first look at the full judging line-up for Britain’s Best Cook, announcing that Mary Berry will be joined by Dan Doherty and Chris Bavin. Together they will judge the brand new cookery competition celebrating truly exceptional home cooks, presented by Claudia Winkleman and due to air later this year.

Just what television needs - another cookery show.

This is the problem when the BBC lose a format, rather than moving on with a new idea, they just create half a dozen very similar shows to the one they’ve lost.

So the net increase when The Voice moved was one extra singing show on ITV, and 2 or 3 extra on BBC One. Now it’s the same with Bake Off.
