Weirdly, Robbie was still performing when ITV left - he did at least one extra song, Feel, which was shown on ITV2. Don't know whether that was unscheduled, or whether ITV knew they were going to be late and bailed at a convenient spot.

To be fair, he wasn't collecting awards himself even when he was alive. For example in 2014 he got Kate Moss to claim it for him. He'd always been notriously reclusive.

David Bowie was NOT "notoriously reclusive". Only in recent years did he stay out of the limelight. Prior to that for over 30 years he'd turn up at the opening of an envelope to perform.

He was notriously reclusive towards the end of his life though, that's what I meant. The first most people knew about The Next Day was when it was released, literally taking everyone by suprise- even the record label.

For the first time in a while, they've not just finished on time, but early! They are usually overunning.

A very tame BRITs. Nothing like what it used to be - no drunk celebrities causing a scene, controversies or mishaps.

One of the dancing houses fell off the stage during Katy Perry's performance Shocked
(It was pretty funny)

Perhaps Madonna was one of the houses?

Still made News at Ten late!

You could tell that Pres were playing that all by ear, though. We had quite a quick cut into the sponsor bumper before cutting off the news trail. I wonder if the news were expecting a 22:01:30 on air time, and the decision was made to stick to that. Hence the padding of trails.

Yeh it underan by 2 minutes due to very short speeches. They had hosts fill but they only could do so much in their final link. Off air time of 9:55. However they forgot to take into account latency on the feed so pres actually cut off the credits before they ended. Opps!

Pres were insisting on over/under runs being in 1 minute chunks but was hard to achieve that.

This wasn't the best night, but it wasn't the worst.

Just watched via catch-up, Katy Perrry stunt was funny but quite appalling at the same time.

Appalling in what sense?

People watching The Brits probably aren't fans of the pair and if your a political figure you've probably got a thick enough skin to deal with things like that. Well maybe not Trump but I think he's upset enough people himself.
