The ITV2 show was actually better than the awards themselves, as was Robbie's second performance. A couple of Take That songs thrown into his second medley, not at all hinting at the probable unification album coming out later this year.
The problem is the venue- the crowd is so big that the people on stage can't strike up a connection with them, the crowd probably can't hear the people on stage that well and the crowd aren't picked up that well by microphones. That then gives the impression that everything has fallen flat then it comes across as stale and awkward on TV.
I think its time to move out of Earl's Court and go to somewhere like The Excel Centre and go for a similar sized audience to that of X Factor auditions.
Whats with ALL These visa advert! Bit cheeky with Mastercard sponsoring the Brit
Isn't it the best time to advertise during a programme which your rival is sponsoring? ITV can't turn down their advertising on those grounds after all
The show started before the watershed therefore it is a pre-watershed show and will have no swearing in it.
Never stopped them in the past with other shows and drama's! Double standards me thinks[/quote]
It's all down to context though. Swearing in a drama which is carefully scripted and justifiable is very different to someone gratuitously swearing on an award ceremony.
Context is all important, if it can be justified then it's fine

Visa seems to had made new adverts with there first broadcasts tonight, I still found it cheeky
Indeed, as Peter was doing his links, you could hear continual screaming in the background as if the audience wasn't listening to anything he said.
No presenters ever come out of the Brits positively, I'm surprised anyone agrees to do it.
Indeed, apparently most presenters say 'never again'!
It's not really the place to put a comedian. Peter Kay is an especially bad choice; not only has he not done live for a while, his act is quite weak and tired. How he got booked for it is a mystery
If I'd known it was going to be so bad I'd have recorded it. The Liam Gallagher bit is on YouTube as are some of the bigger acts, anyone know if it's available anywhere in full or if it's repeated at some point?

For some crazy reason tuned into ITV HD to see if there was a chance it would be on there.
Is it really too much to ask that one of their biggest broadcasts of the year is in HD? And that they put something other than The Bill on that channel? I know this is a bigger issue for an ITV HD thread, but still, its disappointing.
