OK I've just watched the Brit Awards, and although they are brilliant again this year I felt the show was lacking something, and I'm not quite sure what.
It just didn't seem to have the same 'oomph' as previous years.
So for the 2006 Brits i'd like to see a few changes made:
- Show the damn thing LIVE - truely live and not edited highlights on the same night or the next night. There is no reason why it couldn't be shown live from 9 - 12 midnight on ITV1 with an edited version on ITV2 (or ITV4) the next night. This would bring back the element of surprise instead of reading or hearing about the winners the morning the show is being aired. It completely ruins it.
In fact, why have they never been shown live?? Surely it's only a matter of time now as they can't play the 'celebs getting drunk and saying rude things might offend people' card every time.
- Get a few more categories in there - or ones with some variation instead of 'best male, best female, best international male etc...'
- Allow a bigger public audience into Earl's Court - I always feel quite sorry for the public when they're shown all crammed into the tiny space in front of the stage. Another way to make money as well.
I'm sure there are more as well I just can't get my brain in gear. Any more suggestions - does anyone feel the same as me?
