Breakfast News comes from TC7, where also Newsround, Newsnight, Frost on Sunday and On The Record transmit from. Breakfast News is produced by its own dedicated journalists and crew.

News24 cut up TC7 on the mixer. When the regional opts take place, N8 (N24) provide UK Today which TC7 cut to air.

Confused? You will be! Smile

Are there separate sections for Breakfast, Newsround, Breakfast With Frost, On the Record and Newsnight in studio TC7, as it seems pretty big!
SC
ScottC
Not seperate sections no... Same studio, different set!
Those scene shifters work wonders I tell you! Great bunch of blokes.

TC7 is one of the smaller Main Block studios in TVC

Each programme has its own Newsroom area away from TC7

we know that studio N6 is national news and N8 is news 24 but is there a studio N1,2,3 etc. and i presume the N stands for news

Doesn't Working Lunch come from TC7 as well?

I think someone said it did and it seems to have a Breakfast style set but re-dressed!

Here's a little history lesson for you...

In the 'good old days', we had 3 studios... N1, 2 & 3...
N1 produced Daytime summaries & the Six O'Clock news. Later in it's life, it was home to BBC World in the 'flags' era
N2 produced Breakfast News, One O'Clock News, Newsround, & the Nine O'Clock News. Later on, it produced all domestic news output
N3 was mainly a stand-by studio for any recordings or if one of the main ones blew up. It also housed the DVE machine 'Charisma'. When BBC World first started broadcasting, it was produced here in N3. Later in its life N3 produced Working Lunch.

As time went on and more NCA programmes were born, we needed more studios, so came N4 & N5...
N4 technically wasn't N4, it was TC2
N5 was a side-arm to BBC World which some of you may have heard about... it was the Arabic BBC World studio, which is now defunct

When it was decided to build the News Centre, one by one the old, well used studios were closed down, and the new all-singing-all-dancing studios were born...
N6, 7, 8 & 9 you know about... N7 is TC7

Yes, the N stands for News... the Weather studios are prefixed with a W

and now N1 & 2 are TC10 & 11. Before TC7 was referbished for news, it was the home of Saturday morning childrens programmes - Swap Shop, Going Live, L&K etc. Also Dogwatch, Tommorows World and other live magazine programmes came from TC7.

There are 3 small main studios - TC2,5 and 7. 2 used to be news, but now things like RDA, Stand Up Show come from there. TC5 is the home of sport and 7 you know about.

TC0 (zero) is the weird one though!
It was created to experiment with virtual sets and a new type of ChromaKey developed by the BBC.

Until recently, Liquid News came from TC0 (with real sets though!)
