Bring Clarence Back!!

Please, anyone from the BBC, tell the people upstairs to get their skates on and get Clarence Mitchell back on overnight. Even if he just does Sunday morning instead of Susan Osman!

I'll second that!!, even though I hate his hair.

Is this really the image the BBC wants?
Clarance is frankly old style BBC, with his BBC Accent that really belongs on Radio4 or the World Service.

He copes much better with continuous breaking news than Heather McCarthy or Martine Croxall! Even Rageh Omaar was better.

He has very traditional BBC hair.

Yes but realistically Breaking News isn't usually very common at 2am.
The only story that has been very big that has broken overnight in recent times would be the Diana story and all 3 networks managed to rush in their main anchors within an hour.

BBC News 24 needs 2 presenters over night, and they must be made to banter, i mean otherwise Overnight n24 is unbearable!!

That must have been one shocking phone call they got at 2am.

I doubt News24 will ever have 2 presenters overnight.
Simply because of the fact that it costs money, and if the BBC can get by with 1 presenter, which they can, there is no reason why they should put 2 on.
I am not sure why Sky decided to put 2 presenters on overnight, I presume they may start doing this again after the relaunch.

I don't like Clarence on N24 overnight - the tone in his voice is constant, and by about 3.00am his eyes are half shut with tiredness.

I wonder whether News 24 let people like me present overnight for work experience - although I don't think I'd be able to cope with the nasty director shouting at me!!

I noticed something last ngiht.

When news24 came back at 2am after the titles the noise of the newsroom only started two seconds after the wide shot of the studio came in.

Is this some cheap attenmp to make N8 feel more newsroomy?

Don't think we'll see 2 presenters overnight, for two of the reasons  mentioned and possibly one other.  
It is very quiet overnight and doesn't warrant two presenters to handle the load.  Money is probbaly another reason and thirdly I don't believe that World have two presenters for any of their bulletins anymore, and the overnight service is a joint one between News24 and BBC World.

Hymagumba-the newsroom noise u heard at 2am will just be natural atmos present when Heather's mic was opened. The place is noisey enough without any extra noise being introduced!

BTW Jamez, News24 directors are all lovely and they never shout - so u'd be ok!
