After watching him on that BBC 2 afternoon talent show, it made me start to think how else he could be used. He's really funny, but yet isn't on TV that much anymore. I would have thought he would be an ideal presenter if the BBC ever thought about bringing the Generation Game back to our screens.
Funnily enough I was looking through a video the other day and caught the end of a bit of The Brian Connelly Show - a Saturday night show from a few years ago. I don't remember him even doing one! He had Will Young on the show as newly crowned Pop Idol winner. It was during the days of the smokey hearts / fade the background credits, LWT and Trish as voiceover! Seems a lifetime ago...
Being a massive fan of Conley, I have always wanted ITV to repeat the orignal Brian Conley Show (1992-1995) and have constantly asked ITV if they plan to repeat the show on ITV3. The show was later remade as a chat show under the same name. I have some episodes though they are not as good as the original show. I think it's the version Asa found.
The only material I have from the original show is a clip from Youtube involving a performance from Ace of Base, and the live Brian Conley: Alive and Extra Dangerous DVD.
Speaking of which, if anybody has any material, even if it's a one second video or simply a still image, of the original early 90s version of the Brian Conley Show, could you please upload it to Youtube or something??? Thanks.

Originally called 'Brian Conley, This Way Up' It was quite popular but on really remembered for his Broom Cupboard spoof with the 'It's a puppet' catchphrase
I am also a massive fan of Conley. Wasn't the story that they asked him to do a chat show (as ITV did with everyone at that time), instead of sketch based programme. Then after 3/4 years of that, he said that he didn't want to do it anymore, so they gave him that quiz show thing, that I can't really remember, but was axed anyway, and because of the axe, Brian subsequently disapeared off TV.
Then the only places that he was seen was in places like dick & dom's bungalow, and also heard on Radio 1 from time to time.
I'm surprised that ITV didn't look to conley to fill the O'Grady gap. Why go for someone like Sharon Osbourne when you can have a natural entertainer? Though of course if he didn't want to do the chat show back then, would he want to do it nowadays?
