Are the above channels closing as rumoured tomorrow on ITV Digital, along with Wellbeing? I remember there being a rumour flying around a month ago or so..........??????

Wellbeing certainly closes at midnight, 1st January 2002.
As for Breeze & Men and Motors, what I have heard is that Breeze will cease broadcasting on DTT but Men and Motors will remain...
I seem to remember it being reported in Broadcast magazine that ITV Digitla want to drop thje less popular channels as they have done with Calton Food Network so they can make space to get more popular channels such as Discovery that will help increse the subscriptions to ITV Digital.
In my opinion they could scrap worse channels theyve still got than Granada Brezze/Men&Motors.

I can't believe they're keeping Men&Motors - as one of my car loving female friends pointed out, why should it have to be for men? It's stupid.
I havn't really seen any of the channel but its Men and Motors not MenMotors - ie, They have car stuff for both sexes in the day and typical 'Men' programming at night, so its not as stupid, but then again i've not seen the channel.

From what I remember, a lot of the car stuff was very male-orientated. But I haven't seen it for a year or so now, so it might have changed.
As for the men stuff - well, I found it slightly pathetic. But everyone watches what they want to I suppose, and it must get viewing figures. I guess a lot of people would find my News 24 viewing more pathetic.

Maybe, but they'd be Men and Motors viewers, so they'd be the sad ones, I think.....

Actually on Thursday night I think I saw a bit of Men and Motors or it could have been Bravo or both! Their 'porn' is pathetic, admittedly I was drunk and it was 2am in the morning but they were only just in the same room, it was hilarious!

A bit like people who buy Loaded when what they really want is Fiesta... and it's softer than Loaded!
Anyway, the channel is terrible, soft porn or not.
Again, like the split of paramount and nickelodeon rumour, WHY? Breeze and Men & Motors share a channel, and both complement each other as crap women's channel/crap men's channel.
I agree that maybe Breeze should go, but so should Men & Motors. What are they going to put in Breeze's place? I can't think of many natural parings that could be used.
And wouldn't GSB channels be nice and cheap to have on the platform? I wouldn't have thought they'd want to remove them unless they have something specific in mind to replace them with (such as they did when the Carlton channels were curtailed).
Other channels that ought to go:
Carlton Cinema
FilmFour (I know it somehow managed to get an image as being a big important channel like Discovery or Sky One but really, it's no better than Carlton Cinema, and definately isn't worth the price of the subscription)
Men & Motors (along with Breeze)
ITV Sport (I think this decision will be made for ITV Dig - it can't survive on the strength of 'Do I not know that?'. if loosing those rights made a big difference to sky, they will make sure they get them next year and if Sky REALLY want them, there's no way ITV Digital can stop it from happening).
Some things could also be done to better use the capacity they have. With it being so limited - Why should FilmFour be allowed to run trailers all day long when ITV Digital could carry another channel in that space during the day? The same can be said of ITV2 and E4 in the mornings.
I'd like to see all of these channels get an MHEG-5 caption during the day so that the space is freed up when they're not actually broadcasting.
