RE: The previous speculation surrounding last Saturday's Grundiad (!) article.
There will be NO new look for BBC News. This includes daytime headlines, the studio, the music & the way the presenter sits (or doesn't!).
The Head of BBC News this week DENIED the story in a letter to the Guardian.
No, but the way the daytime summaries are being produced is being changed - and who has reponsibility though.... there will be no on air changes but the bulletin at the end of the Six may change slightly as it is moving from the hands of the bulletin producers to the Six O'Clock News producers which makes more sense really...

Perhaps they ran out of remixes of the BBC news theme!
Maybe! - or maybe there will be a new one for the Interactive bulletins to be launched in the autumn!
Also, do you think they will be working on new ones even if it is years away?!

It sounds like you know something from your time at the BBC, Steve
I would imagine that in todays competitive market they are constantly updating their style both graphically and journalistically to try and stay one step ahead of the rest. However the thought of a hair highlighted Anna Ford wearing leather trousers purched on a desk in the newsroom (like Kirsty Young on 5 news) is not that pleasing at this time of night!!
Argh...but i'm sure the older man would like it! Although mid-morning it would have to be a housewives choice! Maybe Huw Edwards in just his red braces?! Arghhh!!
And yes, I told about my BBC inside knowledge (!) in the main forum... which will be back soon!!
There is to be a totally new look - in the newsroom for the daytime bulletins.
I've been talking to a Beeb employee on another forum who gave me full details of it.
Sounds very nice.
Oooh...interesting - conflicting reports! I hope they do get a new look - the news centre is great and they should use it more. They are scheduled to launch on Monday, 17 September AFAIK.
