Now see, let me just have a moment here.
There is nothing wrong with blowing ones trumpet so to speak, however it's when people insist that there trumpet is going to be heard, and much louder than everybody else's that I have a problem. Maybe it's because I'm such a modest chap.

Anyway, Ison had some good news which he also wished to share with the forum, however, the moment the spotlight was taken away from you Kat, you didn't like it. You might think that Ison's comment was more appropriate for a chatroom, PM or over MSN because, however I can't help feeling the same for yours.

My fears for this thread have been confirmed and it's turned into a long list of people saying "well done", "congratulations" type remarks, and I have to question the motivation behind starting it. Just how many people is it you want to see say the same things over and over ?

I do wish you luck Kat with your ambitions (although I do fear for the build up of dust if you're not around). My barbed comment earlier was just further demonstration of our increasing venemous banter, but we both know you love it that way.

QUESTION: Would you put your loyalties to Look North ahead of your ambition ? For instance, would you accept a position working on Calendar ?

It is good that everyone is being nice enough to congratulate Katherine SE. A little bit of praise costs nothing and if Ison was genuine in his post then I stand corrected and congratulate him as well.

I CANNOT believe you can suggest such a thing. I was being totally honest and frank when I posted what I did.

OK, my acheivement may not be on the scale of what you consider - if you compare it to Katherine's...but I had made an acheivement, and I wished to share it with the forum. No-one wished me well or wished me luck. I can't help but think dual standards are in play here.

I am SHOCKED, HURT and my MORALE is at an all time LOW.

Oh bugger off SE. I think I speak for most people on this forum when I say that we're all pleased for Katherine. Why be so negative and derogatory?

I'm really pleased for Katherine, so why should anyone stop her from gloating for a while after finding out about a job that gets her on the career path that she wants?

I like this thread - Katherine gets lots of ego puff points, and then some criticism steals some back, then they get topped up again....marvellous.

But what I want to know is how did Nick Owen find out about all this? : :

But let's not let this mild dose of fame go to your head. You may want to work at Look North now but that's all very fair and well but don't get your hopes up on something that might not happen.

If you get offered something better .. take it... don't wait around for Look North when there could be far better things out there.
