I just do not believe it!

I settle down to watch the World News at 2100 BST and to my horror, underneath Philip Hayton comes the Flashing 'Breaking News' aston!
What is World Coming To!
Tell these BBC people to stop playing around with them and just put back the good old fashoned thingy behind the DOG.

( And if your reading this, Eakin, Amroliwana or anyone I have one thing to say. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!)

Apparently focus groups recently reported that News24 never did any breaking news. Hence the introduction of the 'in your face' zipping Aston

What was the breaking news?
Do BBC WORLD mainly have English news? I know it sounds dumb, but CNN America base thier news on America. For example, on CNN.com/TRANSCRIPTS, and going onto BREAKING NEWS transcipts, there is only things like: 4 DIE IN WASHINGTON, or WHITE HOUSE SPEECH. What about Jill Dando's killer jailed, or some royal family being assasinated.
What is CNN coming to??

BBC World mostly focuses on international news -- not a lot of British news ever makes it on the channel (from my experience, and of course, if the 'news' is 'newsworthy')

CNN is a staunchly American company. And CNN International's original and longest-lasting goal is to provide a news service for AMERICANS overseas. So of course they're going to have more American news.

But the problem is that sometimes (as with most American news nets) very important foreign news often gets bumped in favour of national news.

Saw the Aston at lunch and it's very off putting.

BBC World used that aston when reporting a story on Microsoft which in my view was'nt particually important as I already knew that story over a month ago.
It seems that they are forcfully trying to make both News 24 and World more eventfull, (falling ratings perhaps?)

Hi.
The breaking news transcripts on CNN.com are from CNN/U.S.. As far as I know there are no transcripts available on the net for breaking news on CNNI, but you can find transcripts from the World News show.

I hate it on News 24!! OK once or twice but continuely changing - its ridiculous. You completely lose concentration on listening to the News presenter! I prefered the old one which came in the top corner.

Apparently it's more eye catching, grabbing your attention, especially if you're channel hopping

BBC World can concentrate solely on International News because it's not broadcast officially in the UK.
