As Breakfast is shown on BBC One and News 24, does anyone know what happens when it goes into Regional on News 24???

Does News 24 do regional or not?

Hi
News 24 gets UK Today, it's the only timeI can see it as I am on Cable, and we get BBC LDN on BBC One

So what will fill the timeslot of UK Today?

Maybe Breakfast should have a little banter segment exclusively to News 24 while on BBC One the regional programs are shown.

The same thing is done on the American brekkie shows, especially NBC's Today show. Some NBC stations in the states don't carry local news at all, so they get to see sometimes outrageous banter between the hosts... it's funny.

Also, what happens with the BBC One News feeds on BBC News online when UK Today goes away? Will those feeds carry a certain regional newscast?

Yes they do EDTV.

I think they should keep broadcasting UK Today and let us select a region to watch over UK Today. This way if you want a summary of the news from across the UK, you can choose to have that. This means UK Today could remain as the back-up for all other regions!

But UK Today isn't actully Local news is it?

What is it like?

Is it just an extension of the main news but in a more light-news way

Like local news is always about rubbish

Im on cable too but UK Today appears after the 3:20 news bulletin on BBC2 as only BBC2 England seems to be available in digital form. Strange......

From what I know, UK Today is the 'backup' program if any of the BBC One Regional Newscasts aren't able to be broadcasted on Breakfast, at 1:30, 3:25, 6:30, and 10:25. The show features important news stories from across the United Kingdom, but is not important enough to be covered on the 1/6/10 shows. Titles are similar to the national news and Wales Today with the map of the UK, but the music is a modified version of the BBC Regional News music.

Think of it this way: It's like Newsline (NI), Wales Today, and Reporting Scotland for all of the English regions.

Hope I got that right. Wink

Calling the BBC: Get rid of UK Today! Please!

I hope that makes my feelings clear about UK Today. Smile

i was wondering that too ... what will happen on news24 during regional news?

it also made me think, what used to happen on bbc2, during the period when it broadcast live subtitles on breakfast news in the 90s. - what happened on bbc 2, whilst bbc1 was showing regional news?

Did anyone notice on Monday that Breakfast went to MHS at 0630 rather than UK Today?
N24 were unable to produce UK Today at 0630 due to illness of a techy bod on Breakfast and a TD from N24 went to cover his post in Breakfast
