I think I've seen in one of the other threads that Danny Dyer -- whilst in Dictionary Corner on 8 Out Of 10 Cats does Countdown -- mentioned he was doing a new series for Bravo... does anyone remember seeing this?

It was a joke Jimmy Carr made when he was introducing Danny Dyer.

"Danny is actually here this evening researching his new show for Bravo where he attempts to find Britain's Hardest Conundrum."

I'm wondering if they are protecting themselves against a possible British launch of the American Bravo?

I'm right in thinking that the US Bravo is owned and operated by NBC Universal/Comcast?

If Bravo did come back I'd rather it be more

than....

Even the late 90s era wasn't as bad in comparison, even with the Italian Stripping housewives....

I'd imagine it'd be a brief attempt at being a Dave, with vaguely lad-orientated shows like Dog the Bounty Hunter and Road Wars. Somehow, I can't see Sky taking a dive in the archives to do another Timewarp TV.

If that was the case, then surely Sky would be registering just "Bravo" as a trademark. By registering "Sky Bravo", there's nothing to stop the American Bravo launching in the UK.

Wouldn't Sky already own that trademark anyway?

That may be the case, unless it's expired.

My point was that the registering of "Sky Bravo" on its own doesn't do anything to stop the American Bravo launching here.

If Sky have only got "Sky Bravo" registered as a trademark, and not "Bravo", there's nothing to stop the American Bravo launching in the UK as Bravo.

Yesapparently they're looking at a channel to compete with Dave and ITV4 http://www.theguardian.com/media/2013/aug/09/bskyb-male-channel-itv4-dave?view=desktop

The late 90s version of Bravo. Great idents with the devil horns, but the change in format from being an ITC back catalogue channel, to a rather strange format of cult horror and lads stuff jarred.
