Sky has paved the way for resurrecting one of the former Virgin Media TV brands by registering Sky Bravo as a trademark.

Male-skewing Bravo was the second-biggest brand in the VMTV portfolio, which the satellite broadcaster bought for £160m in June 2010. The most highprofile, Living, was rebranded as Sky Living later that year, but Sky chose to close Bravo on 1 January 2011 after 25 years on air.

A Sky source said the company had no plans to launch Sky Bravo imminently but that it likes to be able to be nimble when shaping its channel portfolio.

Noooo!

'Sky Bravo' - there are times when over branding things makes the names rubbish - when will Sky realise this...

Sort of abusing this thread, but what *happened* to Living? It went from being "DO YOU WANT TO WATCH 6 HOURS OF MELROSE PLACE? OF COURSE YOU DO" to something I haven't watched at all in 5 years.

I doubt it'd live up to the original going by what Living turned out to be.

I've recently seen a trailer for Sky Living's new autumn season, and it looks as though they've been spending quite a lot of money on new acquisitions.

I think I've seen in one of the other threads that Danny Dyer -- whilst in Dictionary Corner on 8 Out Of 10 Cats does Countdown -- mentioned he was doing a new series for Bravo... does anyone remember seeing this?

Yes. It was a joke.

Living became utter garbage after Sky took over.

Kiss of death.

But Challenge[TV] improved immensely so it's not always a kiss of death.

Yes. It was a joke.

But he could have been referring to the American or Canadian Bravo channels.

And ironically that's the channel most distanced away from Sky branding.

Sky Living as a name works, even if the channel has deteriorated considerably,

Sky Bravo as a name really doesn't work.

I'm wondering if they are protecting themselves against a possible British launch of the American Bravo?
