Bowen on One?

I couldn't believe it when I saw Jeremy on the One O' Clock News. He delivered the news in a very laid back way didn't he? Much like his normal Breakfast style.

'This is BBC One in the South and now at 6 O'Clock the news with Huw Edwards and Sally Taylor'

LOL! Buerk on Breakfast!! I'd love to see that! Or even Sissons!
I don't think it would quite work out though.

A normal day (well, it's happened): Bowen on Breakfast, Jordan on One
Today: Jordan on Breakfast, Bowen on One

Was the bloke (or lady (no sexual discrimination here)) who pencils in these presenters in their programmes drunk today and got confoosed?

Darren Jordan popped up on World News which was odd, since I haven't seem him present BBC World News since the BBC Bomb!

IMHO I think they should have used Steven Cole instead of Jeremy Bowen, but it will never happen!

Bowen wasn't that bad on the One today - got a shock though when I turned on a 1.10! He just didn't seem to fit in! Maybe Anna didn't go on because of something to do with the court case - The Mail attacked her severely today... something like 'We like Anna Ford. Even though she isn't a real journalist she has made news watchable' or something like that!!

Probably a late decision....

Anyone got any shots of Jezzer doing the One O'Clock ?

I thought the BBC had a thing about their News Presenters and facial hair, that was the main thing that suprised me about Bowen presenting the One.

I noticed Jeremy Bowen doing the BBC News at 11.30am this morning, and I thought, that Anna had rung in sick, and therefore he had stayed through from Breakfast.
I expected Huw Edwards to have been drafted in by 1 o'clock though!

As I was going out this afternoon, I taped the BBC News at 1 o'clock.

I can confirm that on BBC ONE North we had the annoucement 'This is BBC One in the North, now the news at one o'clock with Jeremy Bowen and Peter Levy' - It was read out by a women.
The only slight hint of any mistake here in the North, was that the BBC North clock was cut off at 12:59.59

Yeah, Huw Edwards is at the BBC all day preparing for his BBC News at 6 programme, apparently he arrives at about 9am or 10am. He works on his script most of the day and so I'm sure he could've spared half an hour to present the BBC News at 1!

Perhaps Jeremy needed the money, so he volunteered to do the BBC News at 1 - perhaps Jeremy Bowen is skint?!

I was surprised to hear a woman announcing the News at 1. Didn't recognise the voice though; perhaps it was Kersti Mitchell?! Maybe it could have been the editor of Look North, Kate Watkins?

In any case, it makes a change from Ian White, who is on holiday this week
