It's been 14 years since it began, and it's been 10 years since it ceased. It can only be Bottom, the comedy that brought tears to our eyes, from laughter.

Incase you forgot about it, the follow up to The Young Ones and Filthy Rich and Catflap followed two non-stop fighing Richard Richard (Rik Mayall) aka. Richie, and his only friend and flatmate, Edward Elizabethan Hitler (Ade Edmondson) aka. Eddie, who both live as poor idiots in a poor flat, as Richie carrys on their non-stop search to lose their virginity, and Eddie hangs around with his chums Spudgun and Dave Hedgehog, boozing day after day.

Three series of the show broadcast on BBC Two, 1991-1992 and a break due to the fact the last episode of series two was set at Wimbledom Common, which was the real-life setting of a distressful news report, and wasn't broadcast until after the 1995 third series.

After three series', several live shows and one film, I think that Bottom should be brought back, or at least something similar!

It's one of those things that was great at the time, but watching it again on UKTV it's still good, but it's time has gone.

It's on G2 right now, the Wimbledon Common episode's on at 11, well worth a look if you're in the right mood.

I just completed my Bottom DVD collection. Season 3 is now out on DVD, I also have Seasons 1+2 as well as Guest House Paradiso. Richie Richard, and Edward Elizabeth Hitler.

Its a shame Bottom is now over, I managed to see the Live Stage show, the last one ever, wish I had seen the others live now, I have seen them on video...

I rekon there can only be one more incarnation of Richie and Eddie, probably in a retirement home causing mischive. They stopped the stage shows because they feel they are too old now, so who knows....

I would love to see it back, however Rik and Ade have broken up their comedy partnership, so the question is pointless really. I doubt we will see it.

It has to be said though that the Bottom formula, great as it is does not suit Rik and Ade anymore, as they are not 30 somethings now. I would love to see a new comedy from them, but something a bit more their age. Even if it is Bottom just updated for their age bracket, then fine. I mean they even did part of the Young Ones act in the last tour of Bottom Live for about 5 minutes, and they looked bloody awful!

I found it odd whenmonths after Comic Relief, I realised that it WAS Ade on Comic Relief does Fame Academy. Sounds so much different to what I thought we would sound like!

When the bloody hell did that happen and why? (Also, they are closely reaching 50. Both of them)

It'd be great to see Rik and Ade back working together, whether it be Bottom or something new...but I doubt that will happen.

Then again, people nowadays may not appreciate it. They'd be classed as strange, but it can happen.

More of an early 90's thing to be honest, back then seen as innocent but would now be seen as an influence to "yob culture" & "Chavs" today & there would be pressure for the BBC to stop showing it.

However absolutely brilliant as was "The Young Ones", as for "Filthy, Rich & Catflap" I'm undecided on that.

I think a TV series out of Guest House Paradisso would be quite good. Sort of a modern and more crude Fawlty Towers.

Is that film good? I've been thinking of buying it.

If you're a fan of Bottom it is. As a standalone film though it's a bit weak. But there you go Very Happy

Correct me if I'm wrong . . . wasn't Guest House Paradiso set in the 1970's?
