Okay, just to get a general feel from everybody in regards to the compilation of idents on ITV1.

Pavement Art is seen far too often. That's not to say the set isn't nice, but there needs to be more variety as far as choices of idents go.

The current set are so boring - one of the worst ever.

The problem with ITV1 idents is they can either be crap visually, or crap musically. The current set is the latter, with that mind-numbing drone that passes for music.

The "emotions" idents were god-awful and typical of marketing men who are that far up their own backsides, but they did have a nice soundtrack (which was different for each symbol).

The latest idents are a great improvement visually, especially "Market" (spoiled only by it being so short). We just need more of them to break the monotony and any new ones should be longer (Pavement Art often freezes before the announcement has finished!)

I wouldn't say they're the worst ever, but they aren't a patch on the regional idents, nor on the hearts set from 1998.

Not the worst ever, that was the celeb idents from 2002-2004. But these are not far behind. I agree its the music that lets them down. The music on both the celeb and emotions idents were good despite the idents themselves being rubbish.

Lake, every time I put on ITV1 it's there!

I'm agreeing with Simon on this one the last set were crap visually but the soundtrack was superb.

Market has to be the best, and the longest running time of the current set, but however you never get to see the end on screen (because they don't let it play for a longer after the announcer stops speaking).

Pavement Art is over used, so is the Lake one. We rarely get to see the Beach ident (and it's not on the list!) and its a good ident.

I think all of the idents are way too short (not counting Market), and ITV can't play them longer than they currently do because of this.

As mentioned above the Pavement Art ident normally stops whilst the announcer is still speaking, because its the end of the video.

So I think basicly they look like a bit of a rushed job, but I like the visuals, just not the music, each ident should have its own music.

When they put the idents on before programmes, it looks as if they've just shoved a random ident on and got the announcer to speak, then cut it and go onto the next programme.

They should do something similar to what Channel 4 do, let the ident play, announcers speach, and let the ident play for a little longer.

I would say it's more a idea badly executed (again). If they had done say 12 or 16 they would be a rather good set but they tire to quickly due to lack of variety, I have yet to see the beach one anyway.
