Are Lookaround the only region to do a signed recap of the headlines at the end of the friday programme. They seem to have a big screen to stand next to now whilst signing, alot bigger than the plasma's, although I think it is CSO.

The 3pm weekday bulletins on Tyne Tees have signing at the end.

Does anyone know why the news section on the Border Website has not been updated for over a month now? The same stories - Holyrood and flooding have been there since March 2nd. This only happened since the merger, has this got anything to do with it?

Lookaround has started to become a total joke again. Three, short main stories in about 8 mins. and the rest of the programmes was a joke, a story on birds lasted about 10 mins. then a story on an old woman making butter and a story about people being happy in the region. Border really need to pull the finger out and look for proper stories, with analysis, and some LIVE INTERVIEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A brilliant, comprehensive Lookaround from Border tonight - live OB and stand - up presentation in the studio. The reports are longer than usual with a lot more analysis. WELL DONE BORDER!!!!

A lot of the time it's like that - the lunchtime/update broadcasts are worse. I've also noticed that a lot of the time the shot of both presenters sitting at the Lookaround desk isn't framed correctly - i.e. there's more "studio" on one side of the screen than the other...so that looks quite bad. But really their reporting does need to improve significantly, along with the presenting - the current presenters are really quite terrible. Hopefully one day they'll also realise that they cover areas that are North of Carlisle.....even an office in Dumfries would be nice...

I noticed that about the desk too, and it is annoying! They have two plasmas in the studio USE THEM. Have the presenter sitting in front of the plasma with the relevant story inset on the plasma, like in the 6.50 reminder of the headlines.

The presenter pairings need continuity eg. Tim and Fiona and Courtnay and Adam. The best presenters were Eric Wallace (who retired in 2000) and Gillian Fraser (who we see doing a report very rarely).

They cover too many stories. Four main stories - one from each region(Cumbria, IOM, D+G and SB) if possible and try to have a live OB for each. Does it cost Border a lot to do a live OB or can they just not be bothered doing one(!)? Then cover a few more stories less in-depth and then sport and some stories in-brief (ie. no report)

I believe there is an office in Douglas (IOM) as well as another one in south Cumbria, but Dumfries is the second largest town in the Border region, so there should be one in Dumfries to cover S. Scotland.

Border excelled themselves tonight on Lookaround tonight. Two live reports on the same story which lasted 10 minutes! A record, Border reports usually last about 2 minutes max.

Yes... shame the first one wasn't actually live... so OBVIOUSLY pre-recorded, I mean at one point the camera jumped at a dodgy edit in the int. Coverage was OK i guess, I hate the Border style of doing an entire incue and not actually mentioning what the hell the story's about until half-way through the report... (you could see me on Lookaround tonight if you knew where to look Very Happy)
