The laughable thing about it is that Sky sent out mailshots last week to their subscribers in the Border region saying that "ITV1 is changing"...! Rolling Eyes

Presumably because recordings on Sky+ which have been set for the soon to be non-existent region will fail if not recreated.

Would series-linked recordings not simply continue looking for whatever is on channel 103, the same as happened when Sky One changed to Sky1, or is it more complicated than that?

Yes, the Sky+ box works primarily on the stream PIDs rather than just on EPG numbers or ID labels. The upside of that is if a channel changes or swaps EPG number, it'll still record OK after it's moved, as long as that stream is still assigned an EPG postion. Any BBC 1 EPG mapping changes should not upset the Sky+ box, only ITV where there are no 'alternative' EPG positions exist (except for ITV London on 993) will a recording fail.

Still got Meridain North here in North Hampshire on Sky 103, (and because it's on Astra 2B it's encrypted).
However although the news is the same as Meridian South, the ads are still different.

I'm in North Hampshire as well, and Meridian North disappeared last Wednesday (and is no longer available through "add channels"), after I also received a mailing from Sky about changes to ITV1. It's now Meridian South here.

Now that's interesting. I'm in Basingstoke and still on Mer N, where are you ?

It's still tunable for me via Other Channels 12402 V SR 27.5 FEC 2/3

Is there a list anywhere online with the up to date frequencies, as I noticed last time I checked mine, some were coming up unavailable?

(One of the Anglia's springs to mind.)

I'm in a village a few miles north of Winchester, and a few miles east of Andover, and quite close to Basingstoke.

Whitchurch perhaps ? I don't know what all the secrecy is about. Anyway round there most people use Rowridge for terrestrial reception, so it would make sense for the Sky mapping to change to Mer South to match that.

So to sum up so far, from previous posts...

*Border Scotland - gone.

*Meridian North cut in size.

*Substantial parts of North Yorkshire have been switched to YTV. (oo- er showing my age!)

Any more to add?

Digital Spy reports that HTV West has finally replaced Central South in the Gloucester and Cheltenham area.
Of course Central South now carries Meridian South news, so those poor folk had a wildly wrong ITV region !

Also South Lakeland (Kendal, Windermere, Coniston etc) now carries BBC 1 North West, rather than BBC NE+Cumbria, so that now matches terrestrial coverage,

Meridian North has definitely shrunk to smaller than its terrestrial (Hannington) coverage. A friend 4 miles north of Alton now has Mer S on Sky 103. That's Hannington country, Alton itself has a Hannington fed relay.
