Because someone locally probably thinks to themselves that's ITV branding and this is not on ITV1 so we will remove it. I'm sure it's just something done on a local level and no major national policy.
Re the weather, usually its just a 1 second glimpse of a GMTV slide, which is only there for Ofcom reasons.
Well Tyne Tees up to recently were using the "blue shades". If anyone knows what the old CSO (used for all the non-studio bulletins before Feb) look like with the blue and cream stripes, it was like that but with the cream turned to blue. Sometime in the last fortnight they have changed to what is either in the main studio or in a CSO with the shot of the left hand "window" panel. Can't tell if it's CSO, Tyne Tees are good with that sort of thing. No TTTV branding, blank astons, and no related matter other than the next programme time appearing in the late 2 seconds of transmisson on the weather slide.
It is a bit strange, I'd imagine it has something to do with the GMTV bullitiens being paid for by GMTV. I know Anglia stick the GMTV logo on the plasma in the mornings and in Northern Ireland the news is provided by GMTV Belfast (but that's a different story).
Where do the GMTV local bulletins in Northern Ireland come from then? Is it still the UTV Live studio?
From what I remember the Northern Ireland News is by Reuters. GMTV had a massive fall out with UTV years ago because UTV cut into GMTV's airtime for a news report which GMTV didn't take kindly to. As a result GMTV dropped UTV and went with Reuters.
Central News in GMTV has the ITV style Central News logo in the background and the newsreader always says "Good Morning I'm (whoever) and this is the latest from Central News"
In the background on the Screen there is always a GMTV logo with the script "Central News on GMTV" underneath.
In fact, Reuters have been supplying the GMTV news for Northern Ireland for almost ten years, as UTV opted out of GMTV to provide local coverage of the Loyalist ceasefires - in my opinion, justified, but the ITC didn't think so, ho hum.
So it's GMTV's fault UTV is a dead zone until 7pm continuity wise - as UTV can't seem to find anyone willing enough to get up and be in Havelock House at 6am, then what's the point of getting anyone in for the rest of the morning/afternoon shift, eh?
Anglia doesn't brand its GMTV bulletins as Anglia News because technically its not an Anglia bulletin.... it is a regional bulletin for eastern England, facilitated by Anglia News. Is that as clear as mud?! Plus its the only pan-regional bulletin Anglia does....

So how does the bulletin for eastern England appear on screen?

Anglia News graphics, GMTV logo on the screen. Have to say Anglia's breakfast output looks so much better than Meridian's. There was a chance to compare the other day when Anglia News was shown for the first bulitien of the day. Of course, it could just be that Anglia has a better presenter

Well the graphics are ITV themed.. ie the ITV colours and style, they actually don't say Anglia News anywhere on them, and you won't see any other Anglia News references on screen.
So how come you got an Anglia bulletin and not a Meridian one the other day?

Why do Anglia take that approach when other regions brand their GMTV bulletins?
