For the last few years there has been no branding whatsoever on Border News during GMTV. They take away all the branding that its Border, even the logo that we are in this region. They have been doing this for years, even before the ITV rebrand.
Why is this?

Looking on sky through other regions. The news bullitins in other regions are branded. E.g Granada has its brand and so does westcountry. No Border News here.

Having no brand during Local news bulletins in the Border Region on GMTV. Compared to Border News during the day. It's a mistery.

It is a bit strange, I'd imagine it has something to do with the GMTV bullitiens being paid for by GMTV. I know Anglia stick the GMTV logo on the plasma in the mornings and in Northern Ireland the news is provided by GMTV Belfast (but that's a different story).

No surprise here Grampian have Grampian Headlines and STV have Scotland Today on their sets during GMTV.However they do have a GMTV graphic up going in and out of the weather .

Westcountry has a slight difference in that during the GMTV bulletins the astons have 'Westcountry News' (in a silly compressed font that doesn't work) on them, but the rest of the time they just have 'Westcountry'.

They do that in on ITV WALES NEWS, they show the old GMTV graphic from 2000 just before the weather 1 second long

The reason being, News must be separated from any sign of sponsorship. It is a GMTV slide, as they have the air time from 6-9.25 a.m.

Really? Then TTTV were being naughty up till fairly recently -- Newcastle short bulletins went straight from news to weather (including sponsorship) without any kind of sting between them.

No, your missing the point. Nothing to do with the weather.
Watch Border News during GMTV on sky if you have it.
behind the presenter or the news reporting, they have removed any reference to Border, and Border News. As though its a generic regional news room. if you watch it it could be telling the news to anywhere.
Only the odd occasion in the past have they done it with Border in the name.

Also, during GMTV, on the top left of the screen, Westcountry has 'Westcountry News' without the squares underneath where as all the other bulletins eg. 3pm, have the 4 squares underneath.

Does anyone know why this is done?
