Big Phil
Even though I live so close to the Border TV region, I have never in my life seen it. It seems to be one of the smaller (and most neglected) of the ITV regions, but we never discuss it.
So, does anyone know what it's like, what the news and weather are like and how it is presented? I know they are now logoless on their idents, but what about on their other graphics, for example Weather? What is that like? Do they have the logo on trailers, particularly regional trailers?
Border seems to be the most neglected most unfashionable ITV region. I don't think that they actually provide any programming to ITV Network Centre at all, the logo was dreadful (the bowl with 2 chopsticks) which has now disappeared altogether. Whilst the other ITV stations have been snapped up by the big two, nobody seems interested in little Border. Oh, and the website is just an embarrassment. Poor Border, it desperately desperately needs a takeover.
Whilst on the subject of the smaller ITV companies, what is Channel TV like these days in terms of presentation, the news etc. Any viewers from the Channel Islands in ?

Well they have a globe with the Channel islands on it, surrounded by a heart, as their logo.
The logo is the best its been in years, it follows the ITV hearts theme but has its own jingle, its good!
The news programme is good as well, they have a nice studio and the theme is pretty good!
I'd say the news is much better than what Spotlight provides. Full Channel Islands coverage whereas the BBC provide 6 minutes a day.
As TV companies go, for the audience, it really is well done!
Well, I am unfortunate enough to
live
in the Border region! Believe me, it's really horrendous. I'm quite glad it went corporate cos it meant they had to lose their horrendous logo - but, unfortunately, they're still allowed to design their own News Idents.
