Boot Camp - another reality tv show from the US has kicked off on SKY One. The Simpsons credits were squeezed and we had some snips of what was to come and the programme started directly after that.
Anyway, I can't understand why US tabloids were having a go at The Weakest Link - this is far worse for mean-ness!!
Not all of them are attacking it, the NYT is ranting about it so is the Chicago Tribune, but the USA Today has given it a positive view, to be honest I don't think they can decide.
And the American public have actually loved it!
I have spoken to a couple of friends of mine in the US today and they adored it and thought it was fantastic and really funny.
The fact is, I hated it at first, and just found her down right rude, now I find it good viewing.
Doubtless the americans will get used to it, the only thing I find very worrying is NBC Chief, Jim Zucker, saying 'Anne is the show', essentially meaning, the show could not exist without Anne.
Basically, in American business terms this means...
'Clear off BBC, Anne is coming to America to work for NBC, because we are gonna pay her more'.
Anyway, she thrashed the other networks in the ratings war, she got 11 million (ok, not much for a country with over 100 million, but considering....) the next highest was CBS with 7.6 million.
So she has done very will indeed.

Just for your information The Weakest Link on NBC did very well in the ratings (I watched it and thought it was great). They are showing a half hour new episode tonight and another one on Wednesday. I hope the show survives here!
